Hello! Great idea! I received my Ming/Gu 1/3 boy in normal skin yesterday and I couldn't be happier. I received great communication from Alan right throughout. I am in Australia so will look forward to the International board. I need to know what other dolls match the AoD normal skintone!

I was wondering if anyone has a Zi Yuan/LeLe? Although I generally prefer minis, she's really caught my eye, but I haven't seen any pictures of her outside the AOD site. Before I decide if I want to buy her (in my country's currency, USD250 is a lot of money ) I'd love to see pictures of Zi Yuan "in the wild.":3

I have received my AOD 1/3 boy (Mo) a week ago and I am very pleased with him. He looks so much greater in "person" than on the promotional pictures!
I can post some photos if anyone's interested.

 

I asked Alan about new hands some time ago. I think it's 'under consideration', as the boy's 'pointy finger' was actually keeping some people from buying the bodies. Of course, a little heat can fix that...

 

Both male hands have pointy index fingers, which is SO odd. AND-- the right hand is a FIST with a pointed index finger. No amount of heat is going to unbend that fist!

 

*LOL* No, didn't mean unbend the fist, just unpoint the finger (s), which I might try. At least it'd look more relaxed that way!

 

I know that! Lol, but it's such a useless appendage with a fist. At least EF made fist hands an option (should your doll have rage-control issues, I guess!). This fist can't hold anything. Can pick his nose with great dexterity, however....

No, you're right... not sure why that hand pose was chosen. I really hope they come out with optional hands soon... but ya know-- he could play Travolta in Saturday Night Fever pretty well!

 

I purchased her, along with a 1/4 Chen on the 5th of July, so hopefully I'll get her in soon, and will be able to send you some pics.. I thought she was quite a beautiful sculpt too.

 

I bought AOD girl body in white skin from ebay for my Dollstown Elysia head. It's beautiful and very nice match.

EVERYONE should look at bekka_alice's Chen! Yul's brother? (Yul is Aernath's Chen). I met him in person last month and he's a doll. I mean that in the non-obvious sense! I love it that I now "know" two of these guys

I ordered the Zi Yuan from the website at the beginning of June so when she comes, which shouldn't be too long now, I'll post pictures.

 

I have been waiting for my Mo / Xiao for 3 weeks, I'm so excited I can hardly sleep! (Got eyes and a wig and a Warcraft concept ready for him as well! ) And he is still not shipped Please post a pic of his face? I am SO curious about his face up

Here's my Dollstown WS Elysia head on WS AoD body.

 

Wow, I really like the girl body sculpt--I'll have to keep it in mind if I end up needing another girl body. Right now my only floating head is a boy--I've been trying to keep it down to one floating head at a time : )

Maybe someone can help me with a small problem here - I just got my body yesterday (cheer) and it's flat-out lovely. So perfect for the head that was waiting for it! I'm delighted.

But! as I was pulling on the string to get things arranged, the knot decided to untie itself. *boing* off went body parts, including the little insert that sits on top of the midriff. I have no problem restringing dolls, but I wonder if I did something wrong with this one, since the insert keeps creeping up into her chest (doing little to no good).

I never got a chance to examine how she was properly strung, and there aren't any instructions in the box...

Suggestions? I *could* superglue the thing on, I suppose, but I kinda hate to do that...


Aside from that I really am very very pleased with the body. A lovely shape indeed.

So, does anyone know, firsthand, whether the Dollzone normal skin is a match for AOD normal skin?

I rather like the AOD 1/3 girl body, and I have a Dollzone Shengxi head that has a GORGEOUS faceup (from 1000 Cranes) and she REALLY needs a body!

GOREY BALLERINA- I can personally vouch for DZ NS being a verrrry good match to AoD NS. It's just the tiniest big pinkier.

 

I have both a 1/3 Gu (hope that's correct) and a 1/4 Fei. I was most amazed at how well they pose. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. In fact Fei may be looking for a friend soon.

 

YAY! I just won an ebay auction (by the "sky" ebay ID, which is the "official" AOD ebay seller, right?) for a 1/3 female AOD body!

I've requested NORMAL skin (the head I have is a normal-skin head), so now I just have to wait and try to be patient until the body arrives!

This is really exciting to me, because the head is a limited Shengxi Dollzone head with a faceup by 1000 Cranes (who did a BEAUTIFUL job, by the way), Soom ("moonlight") eyes, and a super-cool silver and blue ringlet wig (bought on the DOA marketplace: I don't know the maker).

It'll be so great to finally see this doll in one piece!

Obit beauty white is an amaaaazing match! If you DO get a DT head, I suggest the pinkywhite instead if the normal, if you want to match it to an AoD. And a DT head DOES look good on the AoD body!

 

Has anyone else noticed that the AoD 1/3rd dolls have really small S-hooks in their heads?
This is a pain, should i change it over to a bigger size and what size should i use?

 

Oh yeah, talk about small S-hooks... BUT - one of my guys is on a Luts body, and that hook is even smaller. I got bleeding fingers (literally) trying to put the head on, and I'm still scared the head might pop off. I am also thinking about getting bigger ones.

 

I'm not a big fan of their bodies, but I'm loving some of their headsculpts!

 

Has anyone found some decent clothing that fits the AOD SD girls? They are sooooo busty, i cant get any t-shirts to fit them!

My AOD is at home (after nearly 3 months fiou!)

The S hook is so sssmmaalllll -_- I've got bleading figers too. I changed it because is was too smal to go on a Luts neck part.

I'm happy to say that, for the price, the body is beautiful. It stands very well and it is very pleasant to play with it.

Well, i have managed to make t-shirts and a dress for my AoD girls bodies - they have the most humungeous boobies!
Has anyone else managed to find any clothes that fit them? Desperately seeking ready-made clothes for my girls.

 

Uh-- ya know, I haven't been able to really dress one yet. *LOL* Bodies keep getting switched around and such... I don't know! There are some bear clothes at Michael's, I know they don't fit the smaller Obitsus, but they might fit these larger AoDs and they're dirt cheap. Also, the DreamBerry store has clothes that fit I think:

I finally got my Zi Yuan! From Jack aka renaissancefashion on ebay. I simply can't recommend him highly enough! She's a beauty indeed, and poses so well right out of the box... it's such a pleasure to have a doll that actually stands upright without me fiddling with the balance for five minutes.

As for clothes... I found that James' SD shirt pattern fits her quite well (cut out the pieces as is without a seam allowance, and then leave about 1/2" seam allowance when you sew). I have a NobilityDoll boy, and all the patterns I've made for him seem to fit her well (including pants, which I was really surprised about!).

 

Quick question: Has anyone tried modding their 1/3 dolls' feet to wear thong slippers? I'm awfully tempted to try, but I have no idea what kind of tools to use.

 

i was wondering if the AoD resin matches to Luts then? (NS if possible) and are they the same height?

I'm looking for a body for one of my Els, i just don't want the two to have the same body type tho (lovers, if twins it would be fine but lovers with the same type of body??)

yukihotaru: Only the White AOD resin matches Luts - I'd say the match is about 95%. I don't own a normal skin Luts, but I've heard it is like Souldoll's normal skin which is a lot more on the peachy side. AOD NS is very light.

The Luts body is about 3 cm smaller than the AOD.

 

What clothes fit AOD boys best?

 

I have my Gu dressed in some SD13 sized boy clothes from Cheery Doll, and they fit really well--so probably SD13 size. He's a little taller than my other guys, but not so much that it seems to make much of a difference with fit. Clothes made to fit CP dolls probably won't fit well since they're proportioned differently.

Could anyone please tell me how AOD's NS resin is? Is it pink enough to match DOD's normal pink resin?

Also, do the 1/3 and 1/4 AOD dolls have the exact same skintones?

So, currently I only have the MoLan head (which is gorgeous and perfect for one of my characters - can be made up to look rather severe, but in a pretty way. XD), but I intend to one day get an AoD body and Gu head (the MoLan is getting a Bobobie) for another character.

However, the body will be female, instead of Gu's typical male.

I think Gu already looks fairly feminine, and with the right face-up, would work - but would any of you who own that head suggest sanding down the jaw, too, to make it more round/not as long?

 

Does anyone have any pictures of Jimi or Kim (as boys) I could see? I can only find one picture of each of them.

I really like your new sculpts, especially the more mature ones. Ruo Feng is definetely my favourite - he is very handsome and serene looking. Cool!
