Since I got back, I've been seeing a lot of dolls in cornrow wigs. I'm curious to see who has what! So please post pics of your dolls modeling their wigs... and don't forget to mention where you got the wig from! Thanks!
Morgan does braids...(Leekeworld) And Flynn has braids too...Volks pirate Reisner wig seen best from the back! XD
Hi all! I'm working on a putting together a new SD sized doll, and I need help finding a wig that I can put into a braid easily, preferably one without straight-accross bangs. I'd love to see your pics of braided wigs, either ones that came that way, or ones that you were able to braid yourself. Please let me know where you got them too.
This is the only braided wig I have. It came with the braids in, made by Dollheart I believe. Its for a doll I do not yet have...and I don't have a doll currently with a large enough head for this wig so it might look rather strange on the doll it is on here
Hey all, I'm looking for photos of all the wigs available which are made up of piles of tiny braids. Not one single braid down the back, or a couple of braids here and there, but all braided. Soom has one, Iplehouse has one... but who else? Specifically, I would like to see the Iplehouse wig, IHW_M027 #Br3, in black, because the picture on the website appears incredibly brown to me. Observe: http://www.iplehouse.net/shop/step1.php?number=804 I need a wig like this for my incoming Sard... and dont want to have to learn how to weft hair to make one. *L* Thanks all!
I don't think that is classified as a 'micro-braided wig" though. I think that is just a standard braided wig. I've seen micro-braided wigs, though, and they are REALLY ultra tiny braids. Think the stick part of a q-tip, and that is usually classified as 'micro-braided'. When i think of micro braids, this is more like what i think of.... MICRO BRAIDED WIG The one you showed seemed to me to be a pretty standard braided wig. Is that what you are looking to see? or did you want people to show their actual micro-braided wigs?
Actually that one you linked me to is more the aesthetic I would really like, come to think of it. That type of braid really comes off as in scale, where the Soom and Iplehouse braid wigs seem to be oversized. I just never knew where that particular wig came from. *L* I will go see if I can find that wig in Luts' regular stock... I think I have seen it in black, mint green and burgundy on a couple dolls on the board so thats a good sign that I can get it stock. Thank you for pointing it out!!!! But yes, I would still like to see other people's owner photos of the braided wigs available, on their dolls... if possible. =^_^=
bumping this back to life. has anyone done this to a wig themselves? is it possible to braid an unbraided wig, or will it look weird?
Curious to see this, too. I eventually settled on the DollSinging wig, but would much prefer a very long one in the same style. If there's anybody out there who can MAKE microbraid wigs, or if existing superlong wigs can be braided nicely, I would like to know.
I don't know if this will help any, but I've started in on Thial's wig [my oncoming Amber boy], his hair is supposed to be full of braids ranging from small to larger, with lots of little dangly metal bits and the like threaded throughout. These two pics are just in progress for some of the braiding I've done around the horns I'm making him [it's nowhere near done yet, but there's enough showing that I figured it might be useful here]-> It's a Luts straight, super long wig and in order to get more braids in while not having the hair go bald in places, I've been weaving wool yarn in between the wefts. I think I'd recommend it completely when trying to take a straight wig and make cornrows/tiny braids since without that yarn filling in those gaps, you have alot of wig cap that will show.
Two more braided wigs: Luts Cyber Bohemian Shiwoo default wig--this is an amazing wig, worth watching for in the MP! Ummm . . . braided wig from eBay seller whose name I can't remember (I know it's not releaserain or mimiwoo, though).
We got ours at the DollsSinging ebay store (will edit this with a pic as soon as I find my mouse, but should be a glimpse of him in my sig), but Cancan carries a couple as well, at least in the 8-9 size. One in just the braided style here: http://www.cancan-jseries.net/index.php?cPath=29_274 and one with bangs here: http://www.cancan-jseries.net/index.php?cPath=29_275
