BJD Character Concept: Akura

Yes, yes I know...toning is way off.

Anyway, here is another doll character concept.

Name: Akura Morita

Gender: Female

Age: 18

Occupation: Assassin/ Vigilante

Species: Human/ Witch

Likes: A good fight, a good joke, children, chopping up bad people, spicy food, heavy metal

Dislikes: Injustice, human trafficking, abduction, slavery, child abuse, bad jokes

Background: Akura Morita was born to extremely religious parents, her father being Reverend of the town.
From young, she was picked on due to her very traditional upbringing.
While she does not show her resentment, feelings inside were slowly piling up...
If she was not dealing with school, she had to deal with her over-zealous parents, who did their utmost best to 'restrain' her so that she will not be 'tempted by the world'.
This led to a lot of abuse on Akura's side, leaving the poor child battered inside over time.

In her twelfth year, the Morita family was invited to attend the birthday party of the son of the richest investors in the town: The Takashi family, who were regular attendants at the church.
Akura decides to take a private walk away from the noises of social mingling...and chances upon a merman on the beach.
The merman, being Miyu Takashi, the birthday celebrant in question.
While Akura's parents taught her that "what does not look human is an evil demon", Akura knew otherwise, seeing the terrified Miyu's behaviour.

"I will protect you, my only friend." She promises, forming a bond with him.
Over time, the two got close...close enough to share secrets and fears.
Akura finally reveals to Miyu that she is afraid of going crazy, considering her current situation. He assures her that no matter what, he will always be there for her.

Then, one day, Akura's parents discover Miyu's secret.
Accusing him of being a demon and his parents of being 'devil-worshippers', they vow to rid the town of the 'vermin'.
To make matters worse, Akura's friendship with the merman is discovered, leading her parents to turn on her.
As her pleas for mercy are ignored, a dark power inside Akura awakens...

The girl snaps, murdering her parents before causing a bloodthirsty rampage in town, killing whoever she deemed 'sinners'.
A horrified Miyu confronts her at his home, hoping to bring her to her senses.
Unfortunately, Akura seemed to have lost all reason then, and proceeds to kill his parents.
By the time Miyu manages to bring her back, she is innately horrified at what she had done. She then flees the house, and the town, leaving a bereft Miyu behind.

Through the years that followed, Akura manage to acquire giant twin swords, which she uses to slaughter anyone corrupt.
The only trace of humanity left in her is that she manages to rescue the victims of such vice.
On one occasion in which she kills a gang of bank robbers about to escape by boat, she reunites with Miyu who had been living underwater for the past six years since that incident.

Reconciling, Akura invites Miyu to stay at her place, albeit warning him that she was not the same as before.
"I take my chances...I just want to set you free," was Miyu's hopeful reply.
Since then, the number of house-mates have increased.
Akura still fosters a caring, maternal side when she is not murdering criminals, and still enjoys a good laugh from time to time.
But even so, she fears the day the dark ones will finally come for her soul...
