Things NEVER To Say To Someone With Depression I'm fed up with how misunderstood mental illness is by the world. I'm fed up with the way depression patients are mistreated. And I'm especially fed up of people who know nothing about mental illness thinking they have the right to judge or comment on it. [DEVIATION] Without further ado, here's a list of things to never say to someone with depression. "Your depression is all in your head." This is like saying: "Why do you need glasses? Your eyes are in your head," or "Why do you need chemotherapy? Brain cancer is in your head." The brain is an organ. It can get sick just like any other part of the body. MRI scans prove there is a physical difference between a healthy brain and a sick brain. I'd also like to point out that, left untreated, it will hijack your body as well.
